Limited Edition Crucifixion guitar is constructed of walnut wood and features a custom inlay

The limited edition idea started in 1999, when I had some thoughts about what I had never seen on a guitar before. And some faith. I had a guy give me some walnut that had been air drying for fifteen years in a hayloft in Northwood, IA. I asked him if he had any more and he said he did. So after letting this wood sit around for a few months I had a few ideas, which became the basis for this design.

I love the sound walnut lends to the guitar. It is bright but not brittle. Warm but not muddy. It has great clarity and is one of my favorite sound woods for Pederson Custom (formerly Abyss Custom) Electric and Pederson Custom Semi-hollow Body Guitars. Plus all the blues, greens and purples in the abalone binding that are applied to this guitar really contrast beautifully with the darker walnut. It is a striking feature. This is truly one of the best sounding and looking guitars that is made.

In this first run of Crucifixion Guitars there will be ten total. If you are looking for playability, collectability, and a great sounding guitar, this is the one to invest in. Each one is a little different and you can chose the body shape if you like. Note that Crucifixion Number One uses the now retired NC body style.

The neck carve is what I call a medium carve. Very comfortable and we use Birdseye maple with walnut accent stripes for the laminations. This is a smooth fast feeling beautiful neck; hand carved. The headstock is topped of with a walnut lamination and is abalone and ebony bound. The first three Crucifixions have Brazilian Rosewood fingerboards. Crucifixion No. 4 will use Macassar Ebony, which is becoming increasingly sought after for king fingerboard applications.
